On seeing her former flame again, Jess proved there is no love lost between the pair, declaring to The Daily Star: "I just hate him so much, I can't take his face."
Last night (30 September), Jess arrived looking pretty incredible to the star-studded awards ceremony. She was there to represent ITV2's dating show Love Island, reuniting with her co-stars to show their support for the show that shot them to stardom.
While she joined the likes of Hannah Elizabeth and Jon Clark, Cally Jane Beech and Luis Morrison, she also had to face Max.
Things have been tense between the pair, ever since Max was spotted kissing Charlotte Crosby just days after splitting with Jess. And when her ex-beau started talking about his new Geordie Shore love to her, Jess found it a little too much to handle.
She explained: "Tonight was the first time I've seen him and it got too much. I don't have feelings for him anymore, but when someone you've been with comes up to you and rubs his new relationship in your face, it's going to hurt."
"He told me how well it's going with Charlotte and that he has already met her parents," she added. "He's just a d***, a total player and doesn't care about anyone."
Jess and Max first started dating while starring on Love Island, but despite going on to win the show, the romance never survived back home.
From the minute they touched down in the UK, the couple were plagued by split rumours. And while they both admitted they had hit a rocky patch, both Jess and Max had assured fans they were "hopeful" they could work through their issues.
However, three weeks later Max and Jess confirmed their break up on Twitter. While Max said the pair had "given it their best shot", Jess quipped: "Somethings are not meant to be."
Days later, pictures of Max kissing Charlotte emerged, leading Jess to brand her ex as "fame hungry" and "desperate".
"Didn't expect anything less, compulsive liar and fame hungry little boy," she tweeted. "Laughable. Only two days ago [he] was telling me he missed me! Desperate."
Reveal caught up with Jess shortly after and she told us: "[Max] hasn't apologised.... He comes across as nice and gentlemanly, but he's not, he's a player. Good luck to Charlotte or whoever comes along next."
Max, meanwhile, is now "officially dating" Charlotte.
Opening up on her new relationship status, the Geordie fave told Reveal: "We are dating. We're not seeing each other, it's nothing serious but we enjoy spending time with each other and we go out every so often... I would class it as officially dating.
