Over the weekend, fans began to speculate if there was tension between the pair after Josh seemingly accused Jess of lying about being mugged.
He has since taken to Twitter to deny such a fallout, claiming he and Jess have "always" been pals and his tweets to her were sent as "banter" between the pair.
On Thursday (24 September), Jess had been travelling to Manchester when she revealed somebody had tried to steal her phone from her. She tweeted: "Arrive in Manchester and some mentalist decides to mug me and smash my phone. Fumesssss."
On seeing her post, Josh was quick to reply, calling Jess out on her claims. He said: "If you have just been mugged you wouldn't tweet abit .. Screen can't be that smashed either if you can tweet."
Their exchange then went like this...
Jess: "Yawnnnn check my snapchat babes. Oh it's ok hunni can just about see through the cracks."
Josh: "Trying to play the victim again... Probs just dropped your phone [laughing emoji]."
Jess: "You're such a lovely guy. Love youuuu."
Josh: "I love you [too] Jessica."
While it's pretty clear the comments between Jess and Josh are playful, they didn't seem to sit too well with some fans.
Hitting out at Josh, one user told the reality star he was "childish" and should have some "respect" for Jess, while another called him an "embarrassment". This led to many others questioning if things between Jess and Josh had become strained following the end of Love Island.
But shrugging off such rumours, Josh was quick to assure his followers he and Jess are still good pals.
He tweeted: "We have always been friends I just banter [Jess].. She bites [too] easy then all her fans get involved."
Jess and Josh enjoyed a brief fling while starring on Love Island together, before Josh then chose to couple up with Naomi Ball instead.
Jess went on to pair with Max Morley and the two officially became a couple, before winning the show and its £50,000 prize fund. While Jess and Max initially tried to make a go of things following the show, they have now split, announcing their break up six weeks after they first got together.
In the days after their split, Max was spotted kissing Charlotte Crosby and is now said to be "officially dating" the Geordie Shore star instead.
