The 'Mysterious Girl' singer married his doctor partner Emily at a lavish ceremony in July, which paid tribute to both her English and his Greek Cypriot roots.
When asked by Fabulous magazine if he'd cried at the altar, the star replied: "It was just dust in my eyes. I just had hay fever. I didn't cry… OK, I was a bit emotional. I teared up when I turned around and saw her coming down the aisle. You find me a guy who doesn't feel that their bride takes their breath away. It was a beautiful moment."
The couple married at Mamhead House in Exeter, with a ceremony that including Greek plate smashing, African drummers and dancers. Their daughter Amelia was guest of honour, while Pete's daughter Princess served as flower girl and his son Junior was page boy.
Peter said he wasn't offended by critics who felt their wedding ceremony was "cheesy" as another part of the big day was when he got up to serenade Emily himself.
"Oh, it's not everyone's taste, is it? I don't take offence at that," he said. "It was actually a very classy affair. I married the love of my life."
In the interview, the singer also touched on his role in Strictly Come Dancing and whether Emily was jealous at seeing him partnered with pro dancer Janette Manrara.
"Gosh, we just got married, so if she's worried now, then we've got problems. I don't necessarily know if it's nice to see but I know that she knows me, that I'll just switch on on-stage. I've got to be able to give my all. Em's said to me, 'Go and do you thing, do it.'"
