Strictly Come Dancing star Georgia May Foote has gushed about her beau Sean Ward, congratulating him on his performance during Coronation Street's live episode.

Last night, the Cobbles went completely live as Corrie celebrated ITV's 60th anniversary.

Sean (who plays Callum Logan on the soap) had a starring role in the hour-long live episode, and after a faultless performance that saw the villain's demise, his girlfriend Georgia couldn't resist sharing how proud she was of him on social media.

Sharing a sweet black and white snap of herself and her beau together, Georgia said: "Words don't come close to describe how proud of you I am @seanjward Your performance last night was incredible as always! What a year! #dreambelieveachieve."

Her tweets come after Sean had Corrie fans up and down the country on tenterhooks. Viewers had watched Callum attack Sarah-Louise Platt, before Kylie Platt dealt him a blow to the head with a wrench, killing him instantly.

Callum had wanted £20,000 from The Platts and the exciting episode focused on the family's attempts to thwart the bad boy's plans on taking their cash. Following the episode, the cast involved admitted they were "exhausted", with Sean claiming he had "never expected" to play such a central role.

"I never ever expected it," he said. "It's been the craziest year of my life and also the best year of my life... I've learnt the most I've ever learned and I've had to grow up a lot.

"I've waited a long time for this so in a way I was ready for it, but in the same breath nothing can prepare you for being on Coronation Street and for playing the bad boy. To then be part of the live and go out in this way feels like I'm a part of making history, which is amazing and such an honour."

Sean is yet to comment on his exit and the live episode on Twitter, unlike his co-stars.

Tina O'Brien who plays Sarah-Louise tweeted: "Wow well that was an experience!! Incredibly lucky to work with such an amazing team at @itvcorrie hope you all loved the episode xxx."

Jack P Shepherd (who plays David Platt) seemed to want to act live all over again asking, "wow, when are we doing that again?", while Paula Lane (Kylie Platt) described the experience as "crazy".

Sean's departure from the soap follows that of his girlfriend's, as Georgia left Coronation Street back in March after five years on the show.
