The Saturdays star Vanessa White has admitted she felt "literally sick" after releasing her solo material for fans to hear.

With the girlband currently on a hiatus, Vanessa has been busy working in the studio as she prepares to go it alone and forge her own solo career. Earlier this week, she gave fans a taster of what's to come from her musically, and while we were all pretty impressed with her efforts, that didn't stop Vanessa getting fearful.

Sharing a track that she has been working on called 'Relationship Goals', Vanessa moves away from her usual pop sound to embrace a more sultry R&B feel.

And proving she was a little frightened of making such a change, the 25-year-old told The Daily Mirror she felt so anxious when sharing her tune with the public.

"I felt very anxious," she said. "Literally sick because I'd hardly eaten anything all day, which is not like me."

Luckily for her, though, fans loved it and she's been inundated with compliments on her solo track - including some from her former bandmates.

Rochelle Humes tweeted: "You know I'm obsessed!!! My girl!! #RelationshipGoals." While Mollie King said: "Ahhhh love love LOVE!!! Go on girl xxx."

Speaking about the reception she has had, Vanessa added: "I'm really happy, I've got a good response, more than what I was expecting. I wanted to put a feeler out there for people to know what I've been up to. It's not a single, just a taster of what's to come."

Vanessa's solo release comes as The Saturdays are currently taking a break from the band. In the past, the girls (Rochelle, Vanessa, Mollie, Una Foden and Frankie Bridge) have rubbished rumours of a split, insisting they are simply taking some time out to focus on other things.

Rochelle has been busy presenting on This Morning and The Xtra Factor, Una welcomed another baby back in February and became a coach on The Voice Of Ireland, Mollie has been focusing on fashion and Frankie too has become a mum again.

She recently gave birth to her second son Carter Bridge on 15 August. He is her second child with husband Wayne, as they are already parents to Parker, one.

Announcing his arrival, Frankie tweeted: "Our gorgeous baby boy Carter Bridge was born this morning. He is absolutely perfect - Parker is so excited to be a big brother!"
