Fans were left confused after the CBB spinoff show went off-air for several seconds on Tuesday evening (22 September). The feed was cut just as panel member and ex-housemate Farrah Abraham had called fellow guest Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace a "hag."
Channel 5 did not confirm what incident led to the footage being pulled from air, only saying in a statement: "Celebrity Big Brother's Bit On The Side was interrupted this evening due to an incident on the set."
Now, a police spokesperson has confirmed officers are investigating.
A statement issued to The Mirror said: "Hertfordshire Constabulary received a report at 10.55pm on the evening of Tuesday, September 22nd regarding an incident which is alleged to have occurred in the Elstree Studios in Borehamwood. The incident occurred a short time before the call.
"Officers are currently making inquiries to establish the exact circumstances of what happened and will release further details when appropriate."
In the absence of confirmation, rumours have been flying abut what happened in the studio, including reports that fellow panellist Vicki Michelle was injured when a glass was thrown.
She did not confirm that happened but did tweet afterwards: "Been checked over...going home now. Bloody hurt! But thank you for worrying, I'm ok...I think!"
Aisleyne, meanwhile, has said: ""Thanx for the concerned tweets I'm fine at home. There seems to be a lot of misconstrued stories, I will set the record straight I'm tired now [sic]."
