The former footballer recently had a cameo in good friend Guy Ritchie's movie The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and will appear in Guy's next film Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur.
But dad-of-four David said on today's ITV's Good Morning Britain that those roles didn't mean he was embarking on a glitzy Hollywood career.
"I was down at Guy's house and we were having a glass of wine and he said, 'I'll give you something a bit longer and a bit more challenging [than The Man from U.N.C.L.E, which went so well] and I thought yeah it'll be a word here or there," he said,
"But it was 11 or 12 lines. I was like, 'this is going to be a real challenge' but it went well, it went really well on the day and I enjoyed it. It's not something that I'm going to look into but this was a lot of fun to be honest
So, we guess that means any rumours of David being the next James Bond are definitely not true? Yep, he says!
"I was at the US Open and Sean Connery was two seats in front of me and I'm such a big fan of his, I was going to kind of knock him on the shoulder and say 'apparently I'm up for the next role' but no I definitely have not been contacted, I'm definitely not obviously up for doing something like that but it's nice to be linked I suppose."
