Vanessa, who is 1/5 of The Saturdays, has become the first member of the girl group to launch a solo career.
The group are currently on hiatus and Vanessa's latest single is a distinct move away from the band's pop sounds and more towards sultry R&B.
Talking about taking the steps to go solo, Vanessa told Schön!: "I don't think being in The Saturdays has held me back, I've always been a fan of that type of music anyway. It's just kind of perfect timing now because I feel like I've grown as an artist.
"If it wasn't for all the experiences I had with the group I wouldn't be in this place now, so I'm so really grateful for all of it."

More music from the songstress is expected to be released next year.
The Saturdays - Vanessa, Una Foden, Mollie King, Rochelle Humes and Frankie Sandford - have continually rubbished rumours in the past of a split.
It was reported in May this year that Vanessa, Una and Mollie were keen to launch their own solo careers. With Vanessa having already made the move, will Una and Mollie follow in her footsteps?
Talking about the group's hiatus in June, Una told Mail Online: "No, no, no like absolutely 100% I'll say it now we're not splitting up we're just going on a little bit of a hiatus.
"We just feel that we've got to that point where we're kind of taking a little step back and focusing on other things that we might want to personally pursue. We definitely plan to get back together and do more stuff in the future.'
