The bestselling novelist passed away on Saturday (19 September) after a long battle with breast cancer, which she kept secret from her millions of fans.
In fact, Jackie seemed so well until recently, that she even appeared on Loose Women just nine days before her death.
She was publicising her latest book, The Santangelos.
People magazine published a statement from Jackie's family which read: "It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the death of our beautiful, dynamic and one of a kind mother, Jackie Collins, who died of breast cancer today."
The tribute continued: "She lived a wonderfully full life and was adored by her family, friends and the millions of readers who she has been entertaining for over four decades. She was a true inspiration, a trail blazer for women in fiction and a creative force. She will live on through her characters but we already miss her beyond words."
The Stud author was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer six-and-a-half years ago, but choose not to make it public - instead, confiding mostly in her three grown-up daughters.
Before she passed away, Jackie had done one last interview with People magazine revealing her illness.
Jackie wrote 32 novels during her career which have collectively sold over 500 million copies.
In an interview with Reveal earlier this month, Jackie told us she was working on a sequel to The Power Trip, her autobiography, Reform School Or Hollywood, and an unnamed serial killer novel which she planned to publish under a diferent name.
Tributes have poured in for the beloved writer, but few have been more heartbreaking than the one from her famous sister Joan.
The actress, 82, said of her younger sister: "She was my best friend. I admire how she handled this. She was a wonderful, brave and a beautiful person and I love her."

She also tweeted a picture of them as children with the message: "Farewell to my beautiful brave baby sister. I will love you and miss you forever. Rest in peace."
Jackie is survived by her daughters, Tracy, Tiffany and Rory, her sister, Joan, her brother, Bill, and six grandchildren.
Our condolences go out to her family. Rest in peace Jackie.
