Reese Witherspoon has recalled how excited she was to land her first magazine cover at the very start of her career.

The Oscar-winner is a global superstar now and frequently graces the covers of the world's most popular and iconic magazines. But back in her early days as a struggling actress, it was a different story.

She tells the new issue of Women's Health: "I remember when I booked my first cover of a magazine. I was so excited and then I got the magazine cover to show everybody and my eye was blinking and you couldn't even tell it was me. But it didn't diminish my excitement. It's always fun and it's really nice to collaborate with talented people and get to play with the clothes and the jewellery. I'm very much a girly girl so I enjoy all that stuff."

Reese, now 39, began her path to stardom as a local child model, and when she was just 15 years old she landed her first movie role: a major part in The Man On The Moon.

Her fame grew through roles in the likes of Fear and Pleasantville, before joining now-ex-husband Ryan Phillippe in the teen classic Cruel Intentions.

Her critical acclaim increased with Election, then it was 2001's amazing Legally Blonde that made her a superstar. Since then, she's been at the top of the A list and one of the most in-demand actresses in the world.

So, what does she do to relax? "I am a bit of a hip-hop dancer. That's sort of a secret a lot of people don't know. I like to dance. I've got a dance in my heart at all times."
