Bonnie Langford will be staying on EastEnders for at least a year.

The actress joined the soap in June, playing Carmel Kaeemi, the mother of Kush, who has made quite an impact! Most recently on last night's episode when Kush caught her in bed with his fiancee's dad.

Oh dear!

Speaking on ITV's Lorraine today, Bonnie exclusively told Gaby Roslin: "I have my own dressing room now! At the moment I'm there for about a year so we will see what happens!

"It's just wonderful. What's so weird for me is normally you go into a show and you know what your character is and the path but with this one, I get the scripts and think wow what's going to happen? Whats wonderful for Carmel is she goes in as an interfering mother who just loves her boy and wants everything for the best, but I get to break down completely.

"There is a big storyline coming up next week and it is completely heartbreaking. I first looked at the script on the tube and I was crying. It's a beautifully crafted storyline and I hope that we do the subject matter justice."

When Bonnie's casting was announced in April, she said: "I'm a great fan of the show and think the recent 30th anniversary was sensational and shows just how good British television can be. To be part of this family is an absolute privilege."

Show boss Dominic Treadwell-Collins added: "Bonnie brings wit, pathos and a touch of class to Carmel Kazemi - a thoroughly modern Essex divorcee who isn't quite ready to cut the apron strings firmly attached to her son Kush. Even if it means clashing spectacularly with an already prickly Shabnam."
