Rylan Clark returned to The X Factor earlier today, as he stepped out to attend the show's series launch in London.

Beaming from ear to ear, Rylan (who actually shot to fame when he audition on The X Factor back in 2012) looked more than happy to be back in familiar environment.

And looking dapper in a suit and open shirt, the now-turned TV presenter made sure to dress up for a night of rubbing shoulders with Simon Cowell and co.

Rylan's appearance at the ITV show's launch comes after he recently slammed reports he had "slated" The X Factor in recent interviews.

It was claimed the 26-year-old had said he doesn't think The X Factor has matched up to the series he took part in three years ago, suggesting no one has had as much success since the likes of Ella Henderson and James Arthur.

However, Rylan was quick to hit back that he would never badmouth the show that landed him fame on his doorstep. Questioning such claims, he tweeted: " "I love @TheXFactor it's where I come from and have never and will never slate the show? It's the reason I'm here?!"

And just to reiterate how much love he has for the competition, Rylan was spotted reminiscing about his own experience earlier this week. He told followers: "3 years ago today... My X factor audition went on air... And I was sat on a plane to Dubai to judges houses. Thank you x @TheXFactor."

Proving the feeling is mutual between the two, on seeing his tweet, The X Factor was quick to reply: "Thank YOU @Rylan - for the lols, tears and EVERYTHING else."

Rylan first graced our screens when he auditioned for the talent show in front of the then judging panel, Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow, Tulisa and Nicole Scherzinger. Despite being the controversial act throughout his series, Rylan stole the heart of his mentor Nicole and went on to finish in fifth place on the show.

Now, the star has turned his attentions to TV work and not only is he a regular face on This Morning, but Rylan now fronts Big Brother's spinoff show, Big Brother's Bit On The Side.

Tomorrow night, he will join Emma Willis as Celebrity Big Brother finally kicks off again. And while we are all eagerly waiting to see which famous faces will be going into the house, Rylan has teased: "If Perez [Hilton] was in this house, I think he'd be scared."
