Earlier this year, it was confirmed Ed will be appearing on the Australian soap and as his episode draws nearer, Home and Away have warned fans not to miss out on the "history making event" that will see the 'Thinking Out Loud' singer join Summer Bay's favourites.
Taking to Facebook with a clip that shows Ed in action, they teased: "Ed Sheeran is coming to #SummerBay THIS WEEK. But what do you think has brought him to the bay?"
So far producers are keeping quiet on Ed's storyline, choosing to show just a few snippets of the 24-year-old on camera instead.
And it seems the cast are just as surprised to see him as were to hear about his brief stint, with the character of Evelyn MacGuire declaring: "It's Ed Sheeran... it's... it's the Ed Sheeran!"
Who would have thought it, eh?!
The clip then goes on to show Ed interacting with Home and Away's Emily Symons (who plays Marilyn Chambers) and we're guessing his storyline revolves mainly around her.
After wrapping up filming for his guest appearance on the show back in March, Ed posed with Emily for a selfie on Instagram. She then shared it to her feed, telling fans Ed was a "delight to work with".
His cameo on Home and Away won't be the last we see of Ed and his acting skills, as the singer/songwriter recently bagged himself a recurring role on The Bastard Executioner - a new historical fiction TV series.
Speaking of the role, Ed has said he is "excited" to be involved. He plays the character of Sir Cormac, a protégé of a high-ranking church elder, and it will be his first major acting role.
