Perrie Edwards' tears during Little Mix song 'came after Zayn house deal failed'

Perrie Edwards' tears during a recent Little Mix concert were partly because a deal on her dream house fell through.

Well, that's according to a 'source' in today's The Sun, who claims Perrie and former fiancé Zayn Malik had been in the middle of buying a £3 million property.

The insider says the couple's offer on the mansion had been accepted but Perrie received word before the AOL Concert that Zayn had backed out of buying the home, and was "overwhelmed" as losing her dream house came so quickly after her engagement ended.

But, as Perrie has retained a dignified silence ever since the split, we're not expecting this rumour to be confirmed or denied anytime soon.

The 'Black Magic' singer, 22, is clearly feeling emotional following the separation – as most of us understandably would be. The end of a long-term relationship is never easy, and we imagine having to face the cameras and put on a brave face every day is ten times worse.

Perrie's only public comments on the split have been that she's feeling okay and she's relying on the support of her Little Mix bandmates Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall.

Former One Direction star Zayn has also kept quiet, although he did raise eyebrows when he retweeted a follower who wanted to know whether Little Mix's 'Black Magic' or Fifth Harmony's 'Work It' was the better song....

While Zayn is working on solo material after signing his first-ever solo record deal, his former partner is over in the US with Little Mix, where they are promoting 'Black Magic' and their new album Get Weird.

Things are going from strength to strength for the girls, who have managed to crack the notoriously difficult US market. They joined Taylor Swift on stage earlier this month and performed at the Teen Choice Awards over the weekend, where they also picked up their first-ever American music award for 'Breakthough Artist'.
