The 24-year-old has become one of the UK's most celebrated stars, showing huge talent in both singing and songwriting.

Having recently played three sold out nights at Wembley Stadium and chart topping success with his second album X, Ed told the BBC: "I've had an amazing year with my world tour and this makes it even better."

Ed, who will receive his award at a formal graduation ceremony, added: "Receiving this recognition is a real privilege."

With Ed having dabbled in acting too, he's proving that he isn't just good behind the mic!
