Stereo Kicks have marked what would have been a year since the band were put together.

Earlier this week, Tom Mann, Charlie Jones, Barclay Beales, James Graham, Jake Sims, Reece Bibby, Chris Leonard and Casey Johnson took to Twitter to highlight the milestone, despite the boyband splitting last month.

The boys decided to call it a day after failing to get signed by a record label, but despite their shortlived journey, they insist they have loved every second.

Tweeting from Stereo Kicks official Twitter account on 9 August, Charlie told fans: "Today is the one year anniversary of Stereo Kicks. We met. We formed. We sang. We became eight brothers and we've loved every second."

Stereo Kicks were first put together on The X Factor last year. All eight boys had auditioned as soloists, but after failing to make it through at boot camp, they were given a second shot as a band and went on to finish fifth in the competition. It was later won by Simon Cowell's act Ben Haenow.

Since their X Factor exit the boys have gone on to record their own music, releasing their debut single 'Love Me So' in June. Despite their track landing within the chart's top 20, it wasn't enough for a record label to snap up the Stereo Kicks, forcing them to split.

Announcing their decision to go their separate ways, the boyband told fans: "We have considered endless ways of how we might try to make this work, but it is logistically impossible for us to continue as Stereo Kicks."

Opening up further on their split, Jake told Reveal: "We didn't want to split up. We just had to. We just needed a major label to come in and pick us up but it didn't happen. Our management did everything they could to try to get us that and we had been hoping if we split, maybe somebody last minute would come in. But it is what it is and nothing has come in so we have to move on.

"As much as we're gutted the band is over, we are very much looking forward to seeing what happens next, especially with all the amazing support we've had from the fans."

Now, the boys are focusing on their own individual projects. While James has already taken to the stage for his first ever solo gig, Tom has announced he will be releasing his own music material at the end of the month.

Jake has shared his desire to head into urban music and both Casey and Reece have teased exciting things to come. Watch this space!
