Kellie, who plays Linda Carter in the BBC One soap, will be showing off her dance moves when the brand new series returns in September.
The announcement was made on Wednesday morning (12 August) live on The Chris Evans Show on BBC Radio 2.
"There are two main reasons I want to take part in this year's Strictly Come Dancing," began Linda. "The first is that as I will be turning 40 next year, I think it is the perfect time for a new, exciting challenge. The second reason is because if I said 'no' Linda Carter would never forgive me!"
Kellie has been acting since the age of nine, with her first role appearing on stage in Les Misérables. Having trained at the Sylvia Young Theatre School, Kellie went on to star in children's TV shows T-Bag and The Upper Hand, as well as on The Archers and in Ali G's Indahouse.
She made her screen debut on EastEnders in December 2013, alongside Danny Dyer, playing the Queen Vic landlords.
Kellie now joins a long list of EastEnders stars who have taken part in the show, including Jake Wood, Scott Maslen, Natalie Cassidy and Matt Di Angelo.
Kellie, TV chef Ainsley Harriott and presenter Jeremy Vine are the only celebrities confirmed for the dancing show so far.
