But if he ever wanted to make a return, then he would be welcomed back with open arms. A rep for TOWIE told Reveal: "Mario won't be appearing in the next series of TOWIE but the door is open for a future return."

Announcing his exit, Mario told The Sun: "I have had a great time on TOWIE and relished the many opportunities the show has given me but after 14 series, I feel it is time to move on and explore something new."

Mario's co-stars have sent him well-wishes and it seems like he'll be truly missed.

James 'Arg' Argent said: "You will be missed mate. Good luck for the future & I wish you all the best! You've been a big part of #TOWIE #TheOnlyWayIsUp @Mario_Falcone."

Lydia Bright said: "Sad to hear that @Mario_Falcone after four years is leaving #TOWIE. Wishing you all the best in the future, you will be missed."

And former TOWIE star Chris Drake, aka Little Chris, said: "To my bro @Mario_Falcone some of the best moments happened on the show together. Wish you the best of luck big man."
