When Jake Quickenden appeared on I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here last year, it's safe to say things went rather well for him.

The former X Factor star totally won over the public and through his friendship with fellow contestant Carl 'Foggy' Fogarty, Jake bagged himself a gorgeous girlfriend, Carl's daughter Danielle.

Jake even told us he's considering asking Tinchy Stryder, who was also on the show, to collaborate on his next EP! That's some serious networking.

We asked Jake for his top survival tips in the celebrity jungle, and it turns out that preparation is key!

"Make sure you eat loads of food before you go in because you're going to be starving," he tells us.

Jake didn't go into the jungle with any cunning plans, admitting: "I didn't really go in with a game plan I just had a laugh and was myself, so I'd say just take everything as it comes. If you're scared of something just face it head on and try to get over your fear rather than being scared of it all the time."

Sounds like solid, sensible advice to us!

Given Jake is clearly something of an I'm A Celebrity pro, we asked for his verdict on rumours that TOWIE's Gemma Collins is having another shot at is this year, after lasting only three days back in 2014.

Jake reckons Gemma's in with a good chance: "I'd have loved her to stay in last time because I think she's really funny and I think she'd have been really entertaining. I think she should definitely go for it, good luck to her and I hope she does well! I think she could actually do really well in it if she stays in."

Jake even has a few handy casting suggestions for the ITV bosses on who he'd like to see take on the challenge: "I'd get Simon Cowell in there! And I'd love to see someone like Will Ferell too because it would be so funny to watch. I'd also like to send in a boxer to see if they're as hard as they think they are! Lets get Floyd Mayweather in there and see if he likes it!"

We think that's TV gold right there!

Jake is supporting the Shine Night Walk, Cancer Research UK's night-time walking marathon, in partnership with ScottishPower, in London, on 26 September 2015. To enter or volunteer, visit shinewalk.org
