It's a tough time for celebrity relationships recently, with sudden break-ups and divorce statements rocking our faith in true love.
This latest split is another that no-one saw coming, as after "thoughtful consideration and considerable squabbling" Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog have officially called it quits.
Although the pair will now "start seeing other people, pigs, frogs, et al", they will thankfully continue to work together on The Muppets, which is a huge relief.
Miss Piggy revealed the news in a statement on her Facebook page, saying: "After careful thought, thoughtful consideration and considerable squabbling, Kermit the Frog and moi have made the difficult decision to terminate our romantic relationship.
"We will continue to work together on television ("The Muppets"/Tuesdays 8pm this fall on ABC) and in all media now known or hereafter devised, in perpetuity, throughout the universe.
"However, our personal lives are now distinct and separate, and we will be seeing other people, pigs, frogs, et al. This is our only comment on this private matter… unless we get the right offer. Thank you for your understanding."
All a bit upsetting really, isn't it? Miss Piggy and Kermit join a growing list of wel-known couples who recently announced the end of their relationships.
Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards have officially called time on their engagement, Keeping Up With The Kardashians stars Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian have also parted ways after nine years together.
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck and Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have both recently announced the end of their marriages too.
