Little Mix star Perrie Edwards is said to be "absolutely livid" after Zayn Malik called off their engagement.

It was confirmed yesterday that Perrie and Zayn had split, with reports claiming Zayn was the one who ended their romance.

The couple got engaged in August 2013 and were preparing to move into their £3million six-bedroom mansion in North London. It's been reported that Zayn split with Perrie two weeks ago.

A source told The Sun that Perrie feels "betrayed" because she stood by Zayn when he quit One Direction in March, and stood by him through the cheating allegations.

A friend of Perrie told the newspaper: "To say Perrie is fuming is an understatement. She's absolutely livid. After all she's been through. She's stuck by him and been his rock - and this is how she's been repaid.

"Perrie thought the relationship was the best it's ever been, so to split up now is really hard to take."

Perrie has been with her bandmates on a promotional tour of the US to promote their new single and album, but she broke her silence when questioned about the split yesterday.

When asked by the presenter how she was coping, Perrie put on a brave face and said: "I'm good, thanks."

Meanwhile, Zayn - who signed a solo record deal with RCA Records last week - broke his silence by sharing a picture of a lotus leaf drawing placed on a piano.

He followed it up some six hours later with the tweet: "High for this... Weekend tune on a Tuesday ha."

Zayn has not made any direct reference to his split, but we're assuming his tweets mean he is focusing on his music. A source told UsWeekly that 22-year-old Zayn split with Perrie because he "wanted to move on and start over in all ways".
