Former X Factor judge Louis Walsh returns as a cleaner in new trailer

He's back! Long-standing judge Louis Walsh makes a return to X Factor as none other than a cleaner in the show's new trailer.

Earlier, we were treated to a preview of the new promo video, which centres around hosts Caroline Flack and Olly Murs unveiling the judges and putting them under tests in a scientists lab.

Louis Walsh makes an appearance in the new X Factor trailer as a cleaner - August 2015.

Nick Grimshaw gets fitted with Louis' old judging microchip, Rita Ora goes to contestant feedback training, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini becomes a robot and Simon Cowell is put under the scanner to get his predictions on this year's winner.

It's only at the very end, however, that Louis appears as a cleaner, sweeping up the lab after a long day of tests.

It was reported last week that Louis would make a return as part of a comedy sketch, and now we've seen the final result.

Music manager Louis left X Factor earlier this year after 11 years on the judging panel. As a long-standing judge, and the only judge to be on the panel from the very beginning (except when Simon very briefly replaced him in 2007), Louis became part of the furniture.

He won't be on the show this year but you never know, perhaps Simon will draft in Louis as a guest during Judges' Houses!

X Factor returns to ITV in the autumn.
