The actress, 22, admits she's been drinking too much alcohol to escape the pressure of stardom. She also reveals she has battled depression in the past.
In an interview in The Mirror, Stephanie talks about the events that led up to Hollyoaks terminating her contract.
She says: "I will hold my hands up and admit I've been drinking too much. I've been struggling for a while and booze was an escape for me.
"I usually worked six days a week. My only day off was a Thursday but I went out most Friday and Saturdays."
Going on to admit she'd drink prosecco, vodka and tequila on a night out with friends, Stephanie - who is dating First Dates star Sam Reece - also reveals she battled depression two years ago after a messy relationship.
She blames her gruelling workload and the death of her grandma as contributing factors to her partying lifestyle.
Although she says she was never drunk on set, she admits she did walk out one morning when she wasn't thinking straight.
She now says: "I want to apologise to the show for how I handled the situation. I was absolutely exhausted. Something just clicked inside me and I thought, 'I can't do this any more'."
Hollyoaks executive producer Bryan Kirkwood visited her at home and terminated her contract just a few hours later.
Stephanie was 16 when she appeared on Andrew Lloyd Webber's BBC1 reality show Over The Rainbow in 2010.
She joined Hollyoaks as Sinead O'Connor the same year.
She is now concentrating on her future, planning to pursue a career in music and says she has not touched alcohol since being sacked.
