The 'Best Song Ever' singer took to Twitter to tell fans it wasn't sensible to speed down roads in an attempt to catch up with the boys' cars.
He wrote: "Guys, I've said it before and I'll say it again, ya can't keep driving this crazy. Ya gotta be safe on the roads! Seriously. This thing of chasing our cars down the freeway, it's not safe, changing lanes in a crazy manner at 65mph is not on."
One Direction – which includes Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson – are currently in the US on the latest leg of their 'On The Road Again' tour. Their next stop is tonight in Kansas, City, Missouri.
Their North American tour continues until September, when they jet back to Europe for six sold out shows at London's O2 Arena, followed by stops in Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, Dublin, Belfast, Newcastle and Sheffield taking them through October.
We hope they have a break planned for afterwards!
Their boss Simon Cowell did hint in a recent interview that the band would be taking some time off following an insanely gruelling few months.
In an interview with The Sun, he said: "In terms of the band, they've got enough hits now they can take some time off and do some other stuff they want to do. Then I hope they'll have a little bit of time apart and want to get back together again. It's a fun job, but it's absolutely their decision."
