Nicki confirmed today on Good Morning America that the two popstars sorted out the whole debacle with a good old fashioned chat on the phone. All sounds a bit normal and un showbiz doesn't it?!
"We spoke for a long time. We were cracking up laughing on the phone. It's over you guys!" said Nicki, before explaining what happened:
"I posted something on my Instagram and it just showed the stats of other videos that had been nominated previously and there just seemed to be a little funny business going on."
"'Anaconda' had such a huge cultural impact and, on top of that, we broke the Vevo record" she said. "I do think if it was one of the pop girls, there would have many nominations for it."
A point Nicki expressed during her Twitter spree which caused the spat, when she tweeted: "If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year."
Nicki explained the tweet was simply referring to the fact she wants to see more diversity in music.
"I think that we just have to have both images for girls," she said. "We can't have only one type of body being glorified in the media because it just makes girls even more insecure than we already are."
However Taylor was unaware of Nicki's intended meaning, and seemingly thought the singer was having a dig at her 'Bad Blood' video, which is both nominated for an award and features a load of models. She replied to Nick saying: "I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot."
This caused a few exchanges between the pair, however on Thursday Taylor, realising her misinterpretation, apologised telling Nicki: "I thought I was being called out. I missed the point, I misunderstood, then misspoke. I'm sorry, Nicki."
Speaking about the apology Nicki said: "She was super, super sweet and she apologised. She said, 'You know, look I didn't understand the big picture of what you were saying but now I get it.'"
And because it's all ended in such a civilised manner, there's still a possibility Taylor and Nicki will join forces in a track.
Nicki was all for it, saying: "I'm sure we can. You know why, because it takes a big person to do what Taylor did."
"Everyone sometimes speaks out of turn, you know, I've been there. Sometimes we do things and we don't think right away or we don't investigate and we just talk so it was big of her to come out and say that."
Aww, it's like a modern day fairytale isn't it? And no doubt Taylor's penning a few lyrics inspired by the whole fiasco...can't wait!
