Nathan, formerly of boyband The Wanted, didn't appear phased by the huge crowds who gathered to watch him perform.
The 22-year-old, who unveiled the UK video for his debut single in May, played on a piano before taking to the mic stand.
Taking to Twitter, Nathan said: "It's not every day you get to shoot an acoustic music video in Times Square! Thanks to everyone who was there! Can't wait for you to see it!"
Nathan's music video comes just a day after he was suffering from a throat infection and the flu ahead of his US solo debut.
Nathan was set to perform at the Gramercy Theatre in New York City but he was struck down with illness less than 24 hours before the big show.
He told fans on Wednesday (22 July): "Why have I got the worst immune system on the planet? Throat infection has turned into flu ... Brilliant."
Despite not feeling 100 per cent, Nathan still delivered and performed to a packed venue, with tickets for his show selling out in just 10 minutes of going on sale.
Honestly thought I wouldn't make the show yesterday ... But nothing was going to stop me making my US debut!! pic.twitter.com/BdiW5diSjq— Nathan Sykes (@NathanSykes) July 23, 2015
Nathan was joined onstage with his eight-piece band, including bass, guitar, drums and keys.
Nathan tweeted after the show: "Honestly thought I wouldn't make the show yesterday ... But nothing was going to stop me making my US debut!!"
The Wanted were already known in the States, having had their own fly-on-the-wall reality series called The Wanted Life in 2013.
