The reality stars initially called time on their dating so Lauren could focus on her friendship with Jessica Wright but on last night's series finale, they shared a kiss and decided to get back together.
Their reason was: they can't win either way!
Lauren and Dan ended their romance as it appeared to be making Jess - who previousy shared a few dates with Dan - uncomfortable. But then Jess said she didn't want to feel guilty about them breaking up.
"I don't think you can win anyway," said Dan to Lauren. "So there's not much more you can do really."
Lauren agreed, saying: "I'm very much of the feeling now they can all just do one. I'm going to do what makes me happy and you make me happy."
Speaking to the official TOWIE website, she added: "I feel like I'm a lot happier now. We can just carry on if she's cool with it. If she's not, then I don't know! I'm past the point of caring!"
Lauren and Dan both laughed at the suggestion Lauren was never really interested in Dan and used Jess as an excuse to dump him.
"We don't need to prove anything to anyone," said Lauren. "There are only a couple of people who have piped up about it and they are not even people that I speak to so it's really interesting how they have come to that conclusion."
