According to TMZ, the estranged couple both submitted signed legal papers to the court in California last week. Once a judge signs them as well, then the marriage will be terminated.
Khloe and Lamar announced their split in 2013 after four years of marriage but had not seemed in any rush to legally separate, fuelling rumours of a possible reconciliation and feelings still being there.
The couple married in September 2009 after a whirlwind courtship of just one month.
Their life was documented on both Keeping Up With The Kardashians and their very own spinoff show Khloe & Lamar. But things turned source in 2013 with rumours that Lamar had been unfaithful and allegations of excessive partying.
Since splitting, Khloe has enjoyed a romance with rapper French Montana and was recently linked to NBA star James Hardin, but as recently as May, Lamar appeared to be holding out hope for a reunion.
He told TMZ cameras: "She's still my girl. That's my wife."
Khloe has also spoken out in recent weeks about wishing she was still married to Lamar, saying in April: "I will never ever not love Lamar. I was so obsessed with him in a healthy way. He was my husband, and I still wish he was, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. There's nothing I can do. Lamar has to do things in order to change in that aspect, but yeah, if I had my way I'd be married to Lamar in two seconds."
