The X Factor boyband announced the news on Facebook on Saturday (18 July).
And their loyal followers are clearly devastated and shocked by the decision...
In a message to their fans, a statement from the eight boys explained that after an "amazing year" they had decided to "continue their journeys individually".
They said: "We have learnt first-hand just how tough the industry is as an unsigned act.
"Unfortunately, due to these circumstances, we are no longer able to carry on as a band.
"Please understand that there is nothing more that you could have done and that this is a situation completely beyond both your control and ours. We have considered endless ways of how we might try to make this work, but it is logistically impossible for us to continue as Stereo Kicks.
"From the bottom of our hearts, we will be forever grateful for all of your hard work, support and love. We can't thank you enough."
Stereo Kicks - Tom, James, Barclay, Jake, Chris, Reece, Casey, Charlie - was created during the bootcamp stage of The X Factor 2014 after they all auditioned as solo artists.
Although they did not win the show, they have since headlined their own tour and their only single 'Love me So' reached number 12 in the mid-week charts.
The statement went on to say: "We started the process alone and became one. Family is often an overused word, but in the last 12 months we have become one!
That is why this next part is hard…
"We all feel the time has come for us to now continue our journeys individually.
"Although this is really sad for us, we felt that we wanted to end on a high. You guys have been with us every step of the way and have been the first to hear our news, and we wanted to keep it that way!"
Their final performance together will be on Saturday (25 July) at Thorpe Park.
Devastated messages from fans, included one saying: "My heart literally breaks for you boys! I know just how hard you've all worked and how much this meant."
Another said: "No! I thought you guys were going to become something special! I've been crying on my bedroom floor, wishing you were in my arms.....(taken lyrics from the song)."
