According to The Hollywood Reporter, plans are in place for a prequel to the classic tale about the street urchin who finds a Genie in a magic lamp and is granted three wishes.
The movie is called Genies and is described as a "live action comedy adventure" which will tell the story of how the Genie came to be imprisoned within the magical lamp.
It's thought the prequel will lead to a future live action reworking of Aladdin.
Disney's animated Aladdin was released in 1992 and featured the voice of the late Robin Williams as the flamboyant, loud, blue Genie. It won a slew of awards including an Oscar for its song 'A Whole New World'.
It's just the latest in a string of animated films being turned into live action adventures. We've had Cinderella, Maleficent - a reworked version of Sleeping Beauty - and Beauty In The Beast starring Emma Watson is currently being filmed.
