The Oscar-winning actor and director attended last night's ESPY Awards in Los Angeles to present baseball player Derek Jeter with the 'Icon Award'.
It marked Ben's first public appearance since afollowing ten years of marriage.
Ben, 42, wore his wedding ring on stage as he paid tribute to retired New York Yankees captain Jeter, joking that the athlete "broke my heart a hundred times" while playing for the opposition team to Ben's favourite.
The actor has kept a fairly low profile since his marriage breakdown was confirmed on 30 June.
In a statement, the couple said: "After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding."
Ben and Jennifer are parents to daughters Violet, nine, and Seraphina, six, and three-year-old son Samuel.
