Earlier today, ITV broke the news that Essex boy Jon had proposed to girlfriend Hannah as he took part in the villa's wedding-inspired commitment task.
While the task was fake, Jon's proposal was very much real. New details have now been released that reveal he rang Hannah's parents to ask for her hand in marriage, before he popped the question. N'aww!
In scenes to be aired tonight during Love Island's live final, viewers will see Jon discussing his idea to ask Hannah to marry him with his co-stars.
All couples were made to take part in a commitment task, where the boys would reveal their true feelings for their partner. While the girls were sent out to shop for wedding dresses, the boys were hard at work writing their vows and Jon revealed to a shocked Josh Ritchie he was going to actually propose.
"I'm going to propose to her tonight," he told Josh. "I'm 100 percent serious... I'm so nervous."
And determined to do it properly, Jon then rang Hannah's dad to ask for his permission to marry his daughter.
"Your daughter means the absolute world to me," he gushed. "I would do anything for her, I want to come out of here together and make a statement to her to make her believe that I want a complete future with her…I wanted to ask you, could I ask your daughter to marry me?"
Luckily for Jon his potential in-laws were more than keen for him to get down on one knee.
Hannah's dad Joey replied: "Go do it…you've got mine and Colette's blessing."
But will Hannah say yes?!
After initially coupling up during Love Island's launch last month, Hannah and Jon have stayed loyal to each other throughout the show.
They officially became boyfriend and girlfriend very early on, and despite a few ups and downs that nearly saw the pair split up, have remained totally smitten every since.
Tonight they will go head-to-head with the other three remaining couples (Luis Morrison and Cally Jane Beech, Lauren Richardson and Josh Ritchie and newly official Max Morley and Jess Hayes) for the Love Island title.
The winning couple will take home a £50,000 prize fund.
The Love Island final airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
