Reality star Kourtney dumped her partner of nine years earlier this month, leading to speculation Scott may be booted from the E! show.
But exec producer Ryan appeared to dismiss this in a new interview with America's Today show.
He said: "This show is reality so whatever happens, happens in real time. Obviously you hate to see a split with people you know and a family you know and love so hopefully things can work out for the best for them."
If the split does play out on screen, it will inevitably be difficult for the couple to watch. They've already said in the past that reliving their fights on television is one of the major downsides of being a reality star.
Scott said: "Just when I think we've worked through something and we're finally moving forward, a re-run will be on, and I'll be upstairs, and she'll call me like: 'Hey, so I kinda forgot to say I hated you for this one other thing!' And I'm like: 'What? I have to relive this again?'"
It's been reported that Kourtney called time on her relationship with Scott after pictures of him with another woman provided the final nail in the coffin. Scott was seen looking cosy with a female stylist in Monte Carlo while Kourtney was in LA with their kids.
Neither Kourtney nor Scott has commented.
