Cory was dating Lea Michele at the time of his death.

Today, fans around the globe shared their memories of Cory via Twitter using the hashtag '2 Years Without Cory'.

Many shared their favourite images of Cory and memories of his character, while others simply said they couldn't believe it had been 24 months already. Others used the hashtag to encourage those suffering from addiction to ask for help.

Cory had entered rehab the year of his death but had relapsed by the night of 13 July. He was discovered in a hotel room with drug residue, a hypothermic needle, a spoon and two empty champagne bottles.

A coroner later determined his cause of death was a cocktail of alcohol and heroin and that his periods of abstinence from alcohol and narcotics in the past had lessened his toleration levels.

Glee paid tribute to Cory in a special episode on the final series, as well as the last day of filming for the hit comedy musical series.
