On her exit, 23-year-old Naomi said she would "bet all her money" Jess and Max would go back to each other, and it seems she may just be right after last night's episode of the ITV2 dating show.
Newly single Max had the opportunity to pick one of five new girls to date, but after weighing up his options, viewers watched the cricket player from Huddersfield make a beeline for Jess instead, telling her: "I'd 100% pick you."
Max had originally been paired with Jess, choosing to couple up with her on his entrance to the Love Island villa. Ahead of joining his co-stars he had told Caroline Flack he had set his sights on Naomi, but decided to steer clear after she and Josh Ritchie decided to make their romance official.
Things sadly didn't work out for the pair and days after announcing her split with Josh, Naomi turned to her attentions to Max, stealing Jess' man for the second time running.
Naomi and Max's budding romance was short-lived, however, as she was voted out of the villa by the public last week. And finding himself a singleton once more, Max - despite initially having his reservations - has decided to rekindle his brief fling with redhead Jess.
Last night, viewers watched Max and Josh - the only other single boy now in the villa - cook dinner for five brand new girls. But instead of taking a fancy to one of the lucky ladies he had wined and dined, Max revealed he would rather pick Jess.
Pulling Jess to one side, he 'fessed up his feelings towards her.
"I've obviously f*cked up," he told her. "We do get on well, we have a laugh, I kind of shot myself in the foot when I said I want to choose Naomi... I've had the opportunity tonight to meet new people and hand on heart, if you walked through that door I would 100% pick you. I obviously hope you do let me have the chance to make it up to you."
Wary of Max after he ditched her for Naomi, she told her co-star he had to prove to her that he really does like her.
She said: "On the outside world, I would be like f*** you and that's what I feel like being, but it is difficult in here. You need to prove to me that you actually are interested."
While she may have tried to play hard to get with Max, Jess later confided in Lauren Richardson she does still like her ex-beau.
Like the boys, single girls Jess and Lauren were given the opportunity to date five new boys and while they were sat waiting for the guys to arrive, Jess admitted she would need someone to sweep her off her feet to steer her away from her Northern lad.
"I do love Max to bits, I do really fancy him," she admitted. "But I've got to remember that he did mug me off, he did treat me like sh*t... so if someone comes in here and I think they're going to treat me better, then I'm going to have to go for it... but they've got to be very special because I do like Max."
Jess and Lauren's dates will air during tonight's episode and viewers are in for a treat as twins John and Tony Alberti are back to stir things up!
Following their early Love Island exit, the twins told Reveal they would love the opportunity to go back into the villa.
"I'd love to go back in and stir things up again," Tony told us. "You need the twins back in there later on to pick apart some of the couples."
Coming from the guys who slammed the girls for having "zero personality" and the guys for "being desperate", we've no doubt they won't hold back on being reunited with their co-stars.
Love Island airs nightly on ITV2.
