Earlier this month, it was revealed that Radio 1 DJ Nick would be joining the ITV panel show alongside fellow newbie Rita Ora. They join Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and head judge Simon Cowell on the panel.
To some, Nick's appointment as a judge was a strange choice because he is not a musician. However, Sarah, who hosted The Xtra Factor last year, says Nick is well suited to the role more than people may think.
"It was a different choice but a good one," Sarah tells Reveal. "If a popstar can make a call, why can't a DJ?
"I think us radio DJs, we know what we're doing when it comes to new talent because we do a lot of A&R that people don't see. I think Nick's a good choice because we are always interested in new music. We've got a postbox at Radio 1, which is massive and we get sent CDs and become mini A&Rs."
Sarah, who is now on the search for the UK and Ireland's next presenter for E!, added: "We're all very much immersed in the industry in the same way. He'll being a different voice to it.
"It's better for people to be talking about it than not. I really wish him the best, he'll be so fun to watch.
