The eight-piece boyband, who starred on The X Factor last year, charted at Number 31 on its first week of release.
Barclay Beales, Chris Leonard, Casey Johnson, Jake Sims, James Graham, Charlie Jones, Reece Bibby and Tom Mann sent a message to their army of fans straight after the UK chart positions for the week was revealed.
They tweeted: "Thank-you so much! no one let us down... a top 40 single in its first week of release without a label or national radio. We love you.
"Please no-one feel bad or say sorry about #31. We would have been nowhere without you guys. It's all you. We owe it all to you. A big new entry and Top 40 hit with our debut single! Some amazing songs at the moment as well. Thank you to our incredible fans! We [love] ya."
However, the group were later forced to deny any speculation that they will split.
"Splitting up? No way," they said. "Brothers from bootcamp right up until our top 40 debut single. This is the beginning. We're here as long as you are."
'Love Me So' also earned the top spot at Number 1 for having the biggest physical singles of the week, including CDs, vinyl and other physical formats.
The single, penned by band member Tom, was released in association with Sony in a one-track deal, in the hope that chart success could lead to a permanent signing.
Stereo Kicks auditioned as solo artists on The X Factor and were formed into a band at Bootcamp. They stayed in the competition till the quarter finals after being voted off in week eight.
