Ex TOWIE cast member Ricky Rayment has said the reality show needs to be more "fun".

Ricky, who left the show last month after three years, gave his thoughts on TOWIE after watching the latest instalment of the ITVBe reality show.

Straight after last night's show, he tweeted: "I remember when TOWIE used to be fun and there was laughter. It's a shame. Bring back the fun times producers."

Last night's show saw a heated exchange between Georgia Kousoulou and Ferne McCann, Peter Wicks getting a few home truths from the boys, Jake Hall and Chloe Lewis taking a break in their relationship, and Danielle Armstrong getting angry with ex-boyfriend James 'Lockie' Lock, who also revealed he was attending counselling sessions.

TOWIE is real life, but as stated by Denise Van Outen at the start of last night's episode, "some of what they do has been given a little lift for your entertainment".

Ricky announced his decision to leave TOWIE in May, after mutually agreeing with producers that the time was right for him to move onto other projects.

Although his relationship drama with Jessica Wright was played out on the show, Ricky was also involved in fun scenes with the boys. In fact, one of Reveal's most memorable Ricky scenes is when he introduced the boys to the "hard man tequila" shot in Marbella!

TOWIE airs every Wednesday and Sunday at 10pm on ITVBe.
