Rita will be joining Cheryl, Simon Cowell and Nick Grimshaw for the new series later this year, but she said she is not "focused" on going into battle with Cheryl.
In an interview with The Sun, Rita said: "That's not something I'm focused on. Anyway, I think that will be looked at differently now. You see female popstars supporting each other more.
"Plus, I had only met Cheryl once before. But she is very hot and pretty."
Rita said she was offered the job as a judge for the talent show after going for a meeting at Simon Cowell's West London mansion at midnight while he was filming for Britain's Got Talent.
"It was actually a very no-pressure vibe, it felt very natural," she said. "We didn't drink. It was very professional and straight to the point.
"I had a lot of questions and he did too. But it just fit into place perfectly. And the time commitment worked perfectly for me."
Rita was a judge on The Voice UK for its fourth series, but she decided to quit to focus on her music. She said she "loved" her time on the BBC One talent show, but other commitments meant she was going to be out of the country when filming began for the new series, so she would have been unable to do it anyway.
Speaking about her X Factor job, Rita concluded: "Simon is the one who first put me on TV a few years ago as a guest judge so going to X Factor is like going home."
