Well, he has a pretty simple and straightforward answer to this.
Speaking at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity today, presenter and producer Ryan Seacrest asked Pharrell why he "always looks 27", and the 42-year-old singer replied: "I would say my mum and my dad, but also my curiosity."
So basically good genes and having a desire to learn!
'Happy' hitmaker Pharrell, who was wearing a yellow Hawaiian shirt and a striped blue hat, also talked about his success as a producer and singer-songwriter.
"Music is ubiquitous now and that's beautiful but it means it's important not just to be about sound," he said. "Yes, you heard that but what did you feel? There must be a tactile, kinaesthetic value to it. You have to make sure that you write intention into [your music]."
Pharrell gained a large fanbase in the late 90s as one half of The Neptunes along with music production partner Chad Hugo. He was also the lead vocalist of rock and hip hop group N.E.R.D.
He has been called a 'genius' among his peers and is one of the most respected figures in the music industry, having worked with some of the biggest artists including Justin Timberlake, Jay Z, Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, Shakira and Snoop Dogg.
