Nathan Sykes revealed his debeut single Kiss Me Quick was inspired by his lacklustre flirting skills, joking: "So we wrote a song that can flirt for me."

Former The Wanted member Nathan is "having a total blast" going it alone as a solo artist, with his first ever solo US show in New York City selling out in just 10 minutes!

But the singer has revealed that away from the stage he's got an adorable awkward side...

From slick dance moves to his sharp style and incredible voice, you'd probably assume Nathan's debut single 'Kiss Me Quick' is all about how he charms all those adoring girls, right?

Totally wrong actually! In an ultra stylish shoot for Schön! Magazine, Nathan explained how the track came about, saying: "I was working with LDN Noise and we were just chatting about nonsense and I just said, 'I'm really bad at flirting, honestly.'

"So we wrote a song that can flirt for me. It's as simple as that."

Well it certainly works, with those soulful, slick harmonies and deep gazes into the lens during the video. We're smitten.

Nathan continued: "Obviously with the album there are songs that are a lot deeper lyrically and a lot are very personal to me about relationships and things that I've gone through and this was just as simple. We were just laughing and joking about the fact that I can't flirt."

All we get from our poor flirting is an awkward, embarrassed silence and no chance of a second date. Nathan got an amazing debut single and a load of adoring fans, so it's worked out very well indeed.

Nathan's debut single is out 5 July and the album will be out later this year.
