James Graham, Jake Sims, Casey Johnson, Barclay Beales, Charlie Jones, Reece Bibby, Chris Leonard and Tom Mann all auditioned as solo singers on last year's X Factor, but thanks to a re-grouping at Boot Camp, the eight boys shot to stardom as the Stereo Kicks, finishing fifth in the competition.
Now the boys have released their debut single 'Love Me So' and reflecting on their journey together so far, they admit it's been "amazing".
Appearing on ITV's Lorraine earlier today, the boys admit it hasn't felt like they've been together in a band for that long, even though it's nearly been a year since they were put together.
Reflecting on the time they first formed, James told Lorraine Kelly: "It was quite a quick process. Going back to bootcamp, we were chucked in at the deep end... but I think we just immediately took to each other. We are like brothers now, we get on so well. It's like doing this with seven of your best mates. It's amazing."
Proving just how quickly they bonded, the boys explained they had given each other nicknames just like the Spice Girls when staying in the X Factor house.
The youngest of the group Charlie Jones said: "I'm actually Baby... I turned 15 in December."
Doing a little digging we uncovered the rest of the band's nicknames. Irish singer Chris is Smiley Kick, Casey is Flirty Kick (although we hope not so much anymore now he is dating Only The Young's Besty-Blue English!), Barclay is Charming Kick, Tom - Sporty Kick, Jake - Naughty Kick, Reece - Northern Kick and James - Diva Kick.
Considering there's eight of them, we reckon those monikers come in pretty handy when it comes to remembering who's who.
The boys' appearance on Lorraine comes as they are eying up chart success with their first single. 'Love Me So' is an original track penned by Tom.
Speaking about his song being Stereo Kicks' debut track, Tom has previously said: "For me it is a massive achievement because I love song-writing. I'm over the moon; it's a massive honour and all the boys love it and for all of us to be on the same page about it is great. I didn't even push for it."
Since finishing up on X Factor the boys have parted with mentor Louis Walsh and are now doing their own thing when it comes to their music and careers.
