TOWIE's Ferne McCann has hit back at Tommy Mallet following his insults on last night's episode.

Viewers of the ITVBe show saw Tommy accusing Ferne of being "the loosest woman in Essex at the minute" while arguing with her over what happened in Marbella.

Tommy's angry at Ferne because he thinks she upset his girlfriend Georgia Kousoulou by telling Georgia that Tommy didn't speak to her with respect at times.

Now, after watching back last night's episode, Ferne - who split from longtime boyfriend Charlie Sims in March - has defended herself on Twitter:

"Just watched #Towie just to set the record straight I am far from 'loose' & a 'goer' @OnlyWayIsEssex this is character defamation! Implying that a girl is a slag is the easiest, most unimaginative, lowest way to insult a woman!"

She went on to say: "I'm also not jealous of Tommy & Georgia's relationship. Far from actually because right now I love my life & I'm very happy! So if being a single woman at the age of 24 makes you loose and a goer then I can't win. Never settle ladies! Happy Monday."

Ferne also retweeted a follower who said: "It's sad that you even need to clarify this. Anyone with a brain cell can see how happy you are right now!"
