Following the announcement of the new X Factor judging panel, which will see Nick Grimshaw and Rita Ora join Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Simon Cowell, we decided to take a look at what last year's contestants are up to now.

Series 11

Blonde Electra
Eliminated: Week 1.
Jazzy King and Ruby King stood out on The X Factor for their eclectic fashion style and music sense. Unfortunately, their different offering to the music scene didn't get them far enough and they were the first act to be eliminated. Living in London, the sisters do modelling and are thought to be in the process of releasing their album, Pop Tart.

Overload Generation
Eliminated: Week 1.
Overload Generation - Joey, Andy, Jordi, Ryan and Ollie - were also voted out of the competition in a double elimination in the first week as they didn't get enough public votes to be saved. Despite sticking together as a band after their exit, Joey was the first to leave the group at the beginning of this year, and as more followed, the group split for good in February.

Also mentored by Cheryl, Chloe captivated the judges with her first room audition, but she was described as the Marmite – you'll either love her or hate her. She was voted out of the competition in week two. Having modelled before appearing on the show, Chloe has continued to do this full-time but she recently revealed plans to star in a musical film. Chloe is also dating fellow contestant Stevi Ritchie.

Get Me Out Of Here! where he finished in second place behind winner Carl 'Foggy' Fogarty. Still focusing on his music, Jake now has a UK tour coming up in July, and he will soon be back on our screens in new ITVBe reality show, Seven Days With..., alongside new girlfriend Danielle Forgarty - daughter of Foggy.

Jack Walton
Eliminated: Week 4.
Castleford lad Jack won over the judges with his singing ability and was often seen on stage with a guitar. He exited the show on week four's Fright Night after receiving the least public votes. Despite leaving the competition, Jack continued with his passion for music and was gigging around the UK. In April, Jack thanked fans after it was revealed he had been signed by One Direction's Louis Tomlinson, who set up his own record label, set to fully launch next year. Jack teased this month: "It's hard to keep you guys in the know about my music career at the minute but I promise it will get better, amazing times to come!"

Paul Akister
Eliminated: Week 5.
Paul made the live shows in 2014 after being rejected by Louis Walsh the year before. With a new look and an even better voice, Paul sailed through the competition as he was mentored by Mel B, but his time came to an abrupt end when he found himself in the bottom two with Jay James. Paul's exit meant he narrowly missed out on the joining X Factor's live tour, but public backlash went some way in enabling him to perform on two of the tour dates. Paul is continuing to gig around the UK and is currently working in the studio on new music.

Following the tour, former Royal Navy fitness instructor Jay made a focus back to songwriting and recording his own original music, as well as producing for a R&B star.

Stevi Ritchie
Eliminated: Week 7.
Stevi was mentored by Simon and became a close friend of the music mogul, even taking him out to dinner at Harvester! The call centre operator was known for his entertaining performances, even if his vocals were lacking. He was eliminated in week seven, but his performances have remained memorable. Stevi is expected to undertake panto roles and go on a summer tour this year. He is dating fellow contestant Chloe-Jasmine.

Stereo Kicks
Eliminated: Week 8.
Barclay, Casey, Charlie, Chris, Jake, James, Reece and Tom auditioned as solo artists and were formed into a band at Bootcamp, making it the first time the show has seen an eight-piece boyband. With little time to gel together, Stereo Kicks faced a few hurdles as a new group, but they did well to stay in the competition till the quarter finals. Stereo Kicks are now gearing up to release their debut single, 'Love Me So'. Penned by band member Tom, the single is released in association with Sony in a one-track deal, in the hope that chart success could lead to a permanent signing.
