It is the first time the reality TV star, 65, has mentioned Kris since unveiling her new identity on the cover of Vanity Fair this month.
On Friday (12 June), Caitlyn - formerly known as Bruce - took to Twitter to post a message directed at ex-wife Kris.
She tweeted: "Reading the VF article reminded me of the love & good times Kris & I shared for so many years. Wouldn't trade that time for anything!"
One of Caitlyn's two-and-a half million Twitter followers replied: "Hope you two remain friends."
Another said: "That's great Caitlyn. You will always have those memories in your heart! You're a beauty inside and out!"

The pair, who have daughters Kendall and Kylie together, were married for more than two decades before separating in October 2013.
Their divorce was finalised on 23 March 2015.
After Bruce appeared on the Diane Sawyer show in April and announced his transition to female, Kris tweeted: "Not only was I able to call him my husband for 25 years and father of my children, I am now able to call him my hero."
However, in Caitlyn's interview with Vanity Fair - her first as a woman - she seemed to criticise Kris' behaviour during their marriage.
She explained the reasons for their split, saying: "Twenty per cent was gender and 80 per cent was the way I was treated."
He also alleged that Kris changed when she started earning her own money, adding: "She had her own money, she didn't need me as much from that standpoint. The relationship was different.
"I think in a lot of ways she became less tolerant of me. Then I'd get upset and the whole relationship kind of fizzled."
Meanwhile, Kris has said their split felt like "the most passive-aggressive thing I think I've ever experienced".
Caitlyn was married twice before Kris, and has six children in total.
Kris is now dating toyboy Corey Gamble.
