Essex boy Lewis recently revealed he regrets losing former flame Sam and catching up with the reality star earlier this week, Reveal wanted to find out why she holds such a special place in his heart.
Putting it simply, he told us: "I suppose you're always going to harbour feelings for the girl you first loved."
TOWIE fans found out Sam and Lewis had dated in the past when he joined the cast back in 2013.
Recalling his relationship with the now-turned fitness enthusiast, Lewis explained: "Girls are brought up in their life knowing they'll have to kiss a few frogs to find their prince, boys aren't brought up like that. We think we're Kings and we want to find our Queen and Sam was the first girl I ever fell in love with. She taught me a lot about myself and also about appreciating people for the lessons they teach you in life."
But was she the one that got away for him? Keeping coy, Lewis chose to keep the answer to that to himself.
One of the few remaining single boys on TOWIE now, Lewis has said he hopes romance is on the cards for him, revealing he would "like to meet someone".
Lately, TOWIE has seen many of its former couples reuniting and spurred on by his co-stars, he openly admits it would be nice to settle down with someone, even though he isn't particularly looking right now.
Out in Marbella, Lewis was pictured cosying up to a mystery girl, but the Essex boy dismissed rumours of a holiday romance, insisting the girl in question was just a friend.
This time round in Marbs he was joined by TOWIE newcomer Peter Wicks (also single) and after striking up a bit of a bromance with the 26-year-old, Lewis wasted no time introducing Pete to his female co-stars.
Lauren Pope, Ferne McCann and Jessica Wright are all currently single and we've no doubt the glamorous girls caught Peter's eye, but would Lewis now be interested in dating one of them?
Jess has claimed in a video posted to the official TOWIE website that Lewis is always telling her he will kiss her one day. And when we bring up his co-star's claims, Lewis shrugs them off, insisting it's just friendly banter between the pair.
"This has been going on since we were nine years old," he explained. "Me and Jess used to go to stageschool together. It's just a bit of fun."
He added: "I've grown up with all the girls, it's more like I'm a brother to them!"
Funnily enough, that's exactly what Jess said: "It's not going to happen, it'd be like kissing my cousin or my little brother!"
TOWIE returns Sunday 14 June on ITVBe.
