She announced she was quitting Radio 1 the same time as announcing her pregnancy back in February, where she explained that she was looking forward to new projects.

However, after teasing a "very exciting afternoon of fun meetings and new projects" yesterday (8 June), Fearne had to set the record straight about her career.

She tweeted: "I just want to reiterate that I'm not retiring as people have suggested. I'm 33 for goodness sake and LOVE my job. It's a time of change for me as a new chapter unfolds."

Fearne said she was hoping to have a lengthy career, similar to that of TV presenter Bruce Forsyth.

"I'm also pregnant with my second child so gearing up for that," she continued. "I plan to work for as long as Brucie has if poss."

Following her tweets, Fearne revealed she has now become a patron of children's charity, Tyler's Trust.
