Ferne McCann has admitted her relationship with ex-boyfriend Charlie Sims was "emotionally draining" at times.

The TOWIE stars had many ups and downs over the years before finally splitting in March this year.

Now, Ferne is happy and loving life as a single lady… which is very different to how she felt at times in her relationship.

When asked about a time she couldn't stop crying, she said: "The heartbreaks and ups and downs with Charlie. It was so emotionally draining. Plus it was my real relationship playing out on the show... very tough! There was one series where I think I cried in every episode.

"When I found out Charlie had cheated on me... you can't get a bigger betrayal than that."

Among the rocky patches the couple faced was Charlie's admission to cheating on Ferne while on holiday in Vegas.

She recalled: "[I'd never been so angry]. I ripped the glasses of his face and chucked a drink at him. I couldn't believe his sheer disrespected!"

They also faced trouble with the arrival of Frank Major on the scene last year.

Asked about regrets, she replied: "When it came out that there was an overlap between Charlie and Frank Major. Some say I should have felt revenge. Also after the Vegas swimming pool incident, seeing Charlie break down was awful."

But it isn't all negative looking back at her relationship.

When asked about a time she'd felt very much in love, she replied: "The desperation on of winning Charlie back after the Vegas pool random guy incident. I fought so hard for him to give me a second chance. And when he did (in Marbella last year), I was so so so in love."

TOWIE starts Sunday, 14 June at 10pm on ITVBe.
