Following the weekend's final of the talent show, BGT hit the headlines after it was revealed winner Jules O'Dwyer had used a doggy stunt double within her act.
After viewers criticised the champ for fooling them on screen, Simon then had his say, admitting he "felt like an idiot" after learning the truth. And if that wasn't already enough to deal with, the 55-year-old then hosted a star-studded charity ball for Together For Short Lives in London yesterday evening.
Not so quiet after all!
It's been a quiet three days!— Simon Cowell (@SimonCowell) June 3, 2015
Following his hectic start to the week, Simon took to Twitter, joking with his followers: "It's been a quiet three days!"
Far from it, more like!
His tweet came after he appeared with girlfriend Lauren Silverman at the Together For Short Lives Midsummer Ball held at Banqueting House in the capital.
Enjoying an evening amid the recent frenzy Britain's Got Talent has caused, Simon was all smiles as he and Lauren - who is mother to Simon's one-year-old son, Eric - posed on arrival to the event.
While he looked dapper in his trademark white open shirt and black trousers, Lauren looked just fabulous in a silver satin gown.
Inside the event, the couple reunited with Simon's fellow Britain's Got Talent judges Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon.
As always, the pair looked oh-so-gorgeous! Amanda looked every inch the VIP in a strapless canary yellow gown, while Alesha opted for girly glam in an intricately designed patterned dress.
Like Simon, Alesha has insisted Jules and Matisse are still "worthy winners" of BGT and deserve their spot at the Royal Variety as well as the £250,000 prize fund.
Speaking to the Mail Online, she said: "Jules is an incredible, worthy winner. The whole series has been so much fun from start to finish, and I think one of the biggest shows on TV, you could argue. We're all happy, and I think the majority of the public are happy."
Dog trainer Jules sent viewers into a frenzy after it was revealed she had used another dog - not Matisse as viewers thought - for a tricky tightrope stunt during her final performance.
Insisting she hadn't intended to deceive anyone, Jules said she had never hidden the fact she uses multiple dogs throughout her act.
Matisse - her border collie - isn't good with heights, so instead she drafted in Chase - another of her pet pooches of the same breed - to carry out the trick for him.
Admitting it could have been made clearer to the viewers at home, Simon - although frustrated - has said he still "wants people to feel proud of [Jules]".
"She did well," he insisted. "She should be happy."
