As a result, medics have advised her to take a month off work to recuperate. Sharon currently stars on US chatshow The Talk and is often seen out and about on red carpets and attending glitzy events.

She fell ill with pneumonia in March after undergoing hernia surgery, and daughter Kell, 30, had to step in as her replacement on The Talk while she recovered.

Reps have said doctors believe her exhaustion stems from returning to work too soon following that period of illness.

A rep for Sharon issued a statement saying: "Sharon has been advised and has agreed to take a month hiatus to recover fully from these recent events. Sharon would like to thank everyone at The Talk for granting her this time off and to all friends, family and others for their incredible support."
